United With One Goal

#TheGivers community shares the same belief that no human, distant or near, should be without food, education, and healthcare. We are determined to make it a reality.

Making a Difference!

With the help of our community, volunteers, and people like you, we’re improving healthcare, making education a right, and ending homelessness in underserved communities around the world.

I joined #TheGivers because DR is dedicated to improving the lives of underserved communities around the world and I wanted to be part of this impact. It's important for me to serve because it allows me to connect to my community and make it a better place. It’s a very rewarding experience. In addition to the obvious satisfaction of giving back, it has also taught me to view life from the perspectives of others.

I joined #TheGivers because I believe in the organization’s commitment to underserved communities in the U.S. and globally. I am passionate about serving these communities by developing and advocating for solutions that help improve health outcomes and quality of life. DRP provides me an avenue to utilize my knowledge and skills to be a part of innovative strategies that address the needs of marginalized populations.

One thing I love about the DRP is that when we give its quality, it’s substantial, and it’s beneficial. We are celebrating the humanity of the relatives we encounter, by giving them quality goods - it reflects how we view them. I also resonate deeply with the 3 core pillars of the DRP: Homelessness, Healthcare, and Education, and I am appreciative of the opportunity to be apart of the good work DRP is doing.

Being able to serve my community alongside people that I have grown up with is huge. We're not making cold monetary donations or dropping cans into a cardboard box. We're in DC, every month, providing goods and services to those that need them most. Distant Relatives' holistic approach to addressing inequities is unmatched and no other organization works with such care and concern. Working with Distant Relatives to serve our collective family is a privilege.

Working with Distant Relatives has been the type of community organization i have been looking for. Unlike other nonprofits, I’ve worked with in past. The work that DRP does has a direct impact that you can see. It’s encouraging to see the efforts being driven by young adults who utilize their personal talents and skillsets to help the organization grow. DRP not only makes giving back feel impactful but they make giving back fun.
