Why We Choose Water for Our Relatives
that’s the amount of people who lack access to clean drinking water around the world.
that’s the amount of people the DRP plan’s to impact as we gear up to launch our new initiative; we’re building a well as a sustainable source of clean drinking water for the people of Seva, Volta, Ghana.
that’s the amount of bottles of clean drinking water we’ve been able to provide with your help to our students at Seva AME Zion Basic School; until we return to the region to launch our water project.
that’s the amount of money we need to raise in order to accomplish this goal!
In the same community where we renovated a school 23,000 people currently live without access to clean drinking water.
Seva, Volta, Ghana is surrounded by the Keta Lagoon but the water is extremely salty and unable to be consumed. Our students spend hours every day walking to collect water for their family. Not only does walking for water keep children out of school or take up time that parents could be using to earn money, but the water often carries diseases that can make everyone sick.
But access to clean water means education, income and health - especially for women and kids
How do we bring clean water to our Relatives?
Solving the Water Crisis
Our team works with local civil engineers and leaders in the community to identify the best sustainable solution in each country that we visit, whether it’s a well, a piped system, a BioSand Filter, or a system for harvesting rainwater. At the same time, we partner with influential members of the community to coordinate sanitation and hygiene training.
